1: Accept and start a revision
2: By clicking on the text (figure 1, right side), you can start correcting it. Your corrected version is sent to the client. So make sure the translation is looking good and professional. You can also view (figure 2) or download the source text (figure 3, see the red arrow).
3: After you revise the text by typing the correct translation, you can send the text back to the client by clicking on the button "submit & finish". After this, you will be asked to rate the translation and give feedback (figure 4 & 5).
How to revise?
- Correct the actual mistakes; grammatical and punctual
- Respect the translator’s choices; don’t recreate a text according to your own stylistic preferences
- Don’t replace words by synonyms, unless it’s really necessary
When it is not worthwhile to correct a translation?
When it is not worthwhile to correct a translation use the "report as bad translation" button (figure 6). another translator takes over the assignment. The button shows up automatically when 30% of the text (in proportion to the number of words revised) is full of corrections. The translator gets paid for the words they already translated, but it’s beneficial to both the quality of the text and your revision speed for another translator to take over.
How to create feedback for the translator
Because the translator is most likely unaware of the mistakes made, it's mandatory to give feedback about what went wrong (figure 5). This will help the translator to understand why you've made the corrections and also to learn and grow from it. Providing feedback is mandatory and part of the translation process.
If you think it's not worthwhile to correct the translation at all, please send an e-mail to info@fairlingo.com and and substantiate your findings.
