At Fairlingo we work with three different levels of assignments, but also some other type of assignments which are not included in these levels. Below you will read more about each type of assignment to give you a general overview.
The three levels:
- Basic: also called Post-Edit; a machine will translate the original text and you will revise the translation. You will only be a corrector with this type of assignment.
- Regular: the most chosen level by clients; a translator and a corrector will work on this assignment. Depending on how fast you are, you can accept the assignment as the translator or the corrector.
- Specialist: specific translations that require more expertise; only translators and correctors with an accepted qualification will be able to work on these type of assignments. Depending on how fast you are, you can accept the assignment as the translator or the corrector.
Non-level related assignments:
- Audit: the client will upload a translated text, preferably with original source text; you will have to check the translation done, which has been done by someone who is not a part of Fairlingo. It is quite similar to a post-edit assignment, as there is only a corrector who will work on this type of assignment and you will revise translated text.
- Text upgrade: unlike usual translations, you will also implement any specific request from the client; this type of assignment is closer to copywriting, than to actually translation. However, the client may not understand the language well enough to upgrade his text and would need a native speaker to check and adjust where necessary.
- Sworn: any documents that require to be translated as a sworn translation; only sworn translators registered in the database of the Netherlands or Germany will be able to pick up these type of assignments.
Above is a general overview, but if desired, you can read through the other FAQ’s with more detailed information about the different types of assignments you could encounter at Fairlingo. Questions you cannot find, you can ask to us directly by sending an e-mail to info@fairlingo.com
